Hi everyone!
Some of you have asked me what do I use on my hair, so I decided to just make a post about it. Last summer I shared with you my impressions about some products by Halier and I still think they are fabulous, however I decided to change things up and I will show you what I do now.
In my April Favourites I showed you what I use to strengthen my hair and stop the seasonal or stress hair loss, so go have a look. Apart from that, here is what I do on regular basis.
Coconut oil
Extra virgin, RAW, Organic, Cold pressed one…obviously, duh.
Everyone on the internet has heard about the miraculous powers and I can confirm that it does miracles for the hair. Perhaps once every 2 weeks I distribute a generous amount of coconut oil from the roots to the tips of my hair and leave it for at least two hours before I shower. Small tip – if you don’t have coconut oil, you can do the same with olive oil and the results are also gorgeous, however you will walk around the house smelling like salad for a while.
The coconut oil washes off easily – I always shampoo twice just to be sure, and after that you can’t feel it at all even on your scalp. The hair is left smooth and silky, without being flat and oily.
Shampoo
Botanicals Streght Cure Shampoo with Coriander
I started using this after seeing my favourite Lydia Elise Millen using another shampoo from the range – I know, totally lame excuse, but I am so happy that I gave this product a chance! It makes my hair super soft, visibly stronger and thicker. The scent lasts for days, the only downside is that I am not a huge fan of herbal smells, but if you are – you are going to be in love with this shampoo even more than I am. And to make everything even better, it has no silicones, parabens and colourants and the packaging is made from 100% recycled materials. Win.
Conditioner
Botanicals Strength Cure Conditioner with Coriander
I only use the conditioner if I haven’t used coconut oil before that. Same as the shampoo – makes the hair super soft, but not flat and I can actually brush it! Not much else there to say, you just have to try it!
Hair Oil
Here I have a few options, depending on how I feel.
Sometimes, when I want some extra boost, I go for the Percy&Reed Volumising No Oil Oil and I apply it all over the hair – gives a lovely texture without, indeed, feeling oily. Very light, lovely scent, I actually recommend all their products – I think I have tried 3 or 4 and they have all been amazing.
If I feel like the ends of my hair have gone a bit dry, then I use my OROFLUIDO Beauty Elixir – it has argan, linseed and cyperus oil and smells like vanilla. Does not feel sticky or heavy and gives the hair lovely shine. Also the bottle lasts quite a long time, as you only need to apply only a tiny bit.
Heat Protection
I generally try to let my hair air dry, however this is not always possible, as if I go to bed with wet hair, I wake up with…wet hair. And wet pillow. And a headache. So, whenever I do need to use the hair dryer, I always apply some TRESemme Heat Defence Spray and so far I haven’t noticed any damage to my hair, my ends don’t really split and overall my hair looks healthy. Very rarely I use straighteners or curlers, but again – make sure you apply some heat protection before that!
To be honest, if I try to talk you through all the hair care products I own and occasionally use, that blog post would be around 60 000 words, so this time I am mentioning only the solids in my routine. If I happen to love any of the other products I’m testing, be sure I will let you know in one of my favourites posts!
How do you care for your hair?
