Birchbox – May 2018

Hello, hello!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Birchbox review, however if you follow my Instagram, then you haven’t missed much, as I usually post the unboxing in my stories. Having said that, if you are not following me on Instagram, then now is the time to correct that!

Now, enough with the intro, let’s get to the point!

This month everyone could choose between two shades of the Doucce Luscious Lip Stain – Steaming Red or Amber Rose. I got the Amber Rose and it is indeed a beautiful colour, very far from anything rose-y or pinky, has more beige and coral undertones, but the staying power is insaaaaane! Yes, it dries out the lips a bit, yet which matte lipstick doesn’t? I wouldn’t say it is uncomfortable and it certainly showed bravery and withstood my sophisticated decision to eat pizza for lunch, so I am happy!

What is a Birchbox without some shower gel or a body wash? This time I got a small bottle by Greenfrog Botanic with their Geranium & Peppermint Botanical Bodywash. I must say, the strong herbal scents are not my cut of tea, so I know I won’t be falling in love with this product no matter how well it…washes me!? But that doesn’t mean it’s a bad item and if you’re into such scents and vegan, cruelty free, palm oil free, paraben, SLS and ALS free products (honestly, what’s inside!?), then you should certainly give it a go.

The next product is something, that I remember that I was eager to try, but can’t possibly remember why and who recommended it…Honestly, if someone has posted recently about this, please let me know, because it is really bugging me, that my brain currently has decided to have the capacity of a…something useless and empty. Go figure. So, the product is the Skinny Liquid Eyeliner by Eyeko. I must say, I’ve had the worst experience with eyeliners and really struggle to find one that can really impress me – you can check out my little comparison here and so far nothing has changed, I even tried the famous Tattoo Eyeliner by KatVonD and I was not overly impressed – yes, it is good, but not black enough and it still dries out quite quickly. ANYWAY! Not the point of the post, that was some bonus info! In regards to the Eyeko one, I will let you know what I think once I test it!

Off I go back to skin care, this time I will be trying out Marcelle’s New Age Precision 8-in-1 Power Serum. Currently I’m very into putting random stuff on my face before I go to sleep, so I will see if this 8-in-1 miracle will make me look like I’ve slept for 10 hours. By the way, I’m writing this at 1am, so excuse my extreme lack of any overly clever sentences. The description of the product on the website says that it’s paraben, fragrance and gluten-free. Why would an eye serum be gluten free, I do not know. Why would an eye serum not be gluten free…I do not know as well. I do hope that it is dairy and sugar-free too.

And last, but not least, a version of a product I’ve already tried and loved – The Native Unearthed Natural Deodorant, this time with Activated Charcoal. You can hear my opinion on their Vanilla one here and you will understand why I’m so excited. Tomorrow…well, today, is going to be a rather warm day in the UK, so I’m really looking forward to testing this one out as well. Hopefully it will be just as good!

I hope you’ve found this post useful, let me know if you’ve tried any of those products! Meanwhile, if you’d like to join the Birchbox family, keep in mind you can get 50% OFF when you click here!

See you next week! Or not. Depends. We’ll figure it out!

Mells x
