I’m back with one of my regular posts about the Birchbox!
Let’s see what we got this time 🙂
September’s box is in collaboration with Oliver Bonas, which is a brand for fashion, furniture, accessories and pretty much all kinds of cool stuff, so the first thing you’re gonna find in the box is, naturally, a 15% off discount voucher for the brand.
I must say so far this has been one of the most interesting boxes when it comes to samples included (if we’re talking design, then the rose gold and white marble box wins, because…rose gold and white marble.), so I do highly recommend for you to consider subscribing (and hope for a nice goodie selection like mine).
Along with the products, I got some very cute stickers, and I really liked the motivational quote on the box – Work hard, play hard and be kind. Pretty much summarises it all!
I have tried couple of the products that I got so far and I really really like them.
Let’s start with the most appealing one when it comes to brand name – the Clinique Take The Day Away Cleansing Balm. Lovely, balm-y (duh?!) and soooooooo comfortable on the skin! Now, whether it would remove make up – I do not know, as I use it after micellar water, but it certainly feels wonderful on the skin. Now, would I consider buying the full size? Maybe. If I want to treat myself. But if I have to be honest, it does feel a lot like coconut oil (no doubt Clinique have put a lot of effort into making it better, but we’re talking practicality here), which also cleanses and softens your skin, so if you are on a budget and would like to achieve the same effect – just stick to the coconut oil.
Arrow Boost Colour Enhancing Lip Balm – this little treasure claims to adapt to the pH of your skin, turning into different shade, that matches perfectly your complexion. With me it transformed into a sheer light pink balm and I really liked it. Does not give any serious colour, but is nice to just pop it in your bag and apply it during the day. Makes your lips super soft too, however I can’t decide whether it is better than all the lip balms I am trying out now (let me know if you’d like me to write a full post about them).
Polaar Icy Magic Instant Eye Contour Energiser – long name for a tiny product! Quite an awesome little thing, though! I tried it over the weekend and it feels so lovely and refreshing under your eyes! I will definitely continue using it. Also the applicator is a nice little metal ball, so it feels extra cooling! One thing that annoys me, however, is that it is currently out of stock in the BirchBox shop. Once again, Birchbox, WHY send us things that we can’t order afterwards?!
Manna Kadar Fantasy 3in1 Eyeshadow – Now, as many of you, who have read my previous box reviews know, I have been very upset with that brand for a good reason. This one claims to be eyeshadow, blusher and highlighter, but I am not sure how such a dark shade would work on me for anything else than an eyeshadow. I will be trying it out, as it is gorgeous consistency, but I am a bit sceptical.
Dr. PawPaw Original Clear Balm – Yellow – This sounds like something from the veterinary range in my practice. It is supposed to be a multi-purpose balm, that soothes, moisturises, nourishes, fixes split ends and promotes natural healing. I’ve so far tried it on my hands, as they are very dry, and it does feel aaaaaaamaaaazing! Don’t expect fascinating scent, though.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products or, if you are subscribed to Birchbox, what were your goodies this month!
