This time we’re talking about the Birchbox! For those of you who haven’t heard of it – this is a monthly subscription and you get 5 beauty products, of which at least one is full size, picked (according to details you fill in about yourself) and sent to you. The price is £10 per month and you have £2.95 delivery charge if you are in the UK.
I have been a subscriber since June 2016 when one of my colleagues recommended it to me. In all 9 boxes I have received so far, I have probably had not more than 5 products that I don’t really like. However, I discovered some awesome things that otherwise wouldn’t have even thought of buying.
The cool thing about the Birchbox is that they also have a rewards system, which lets you collect points when you review your products every month, and then spend those points in the shop. I tried it once as I had over £40 worth of points and I am very impressed – wasn’t even charged for the delivery, as my order was over certain amount (£30 I belive…or £35?!) so I ended up literally paying nothing. Absolutely impressed! (Obviously, I am quite suspicious when it comes to anything that claims to be free…lol)
So, let’s get to the point! The February box!
I got the option to pre-pick from two designs as this month Birchbox have teamed up with Papier, so I chose the darker colour scheme. Every subscriber in February gets a full sized eyeshadow brush from Spectrum – the Marbleous C06 Tulip Eye Contour Brush. I haven’t tried it in action just yet, however it feels so soft and fluffy that you just can’t stop snuggling it…that came out creepy…Aaaaanyway!
The second product is an eyeshadow trio by POP Beauty – Bright Up Your Life Eyeshadow Trio in Champagne Mocha. As the name suggests, you get 3 shades – quite neutral pick so it would suit most people. Again, I haven’t tried them but from swatching they appear to be a bit powdery and not overly pigmented. Nonetheless – beautiful colours and I am sure they will come to good use. (One can never have too many eyeshadows!)
Beaver Professional – Daily Moisture Conditioning Spray – this.smells.amazing.! I am happy to receive any moisturizing/hydrating/nourishing/conditioning hair product as my hair is quite long and does tend to get a bit dry during the winter with all those scarves rubbing at the ends.
Vasanti – Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator. Now, as the name suggests, this is something that you put on your face. As the description in the tiny leaflet that you get with every Birchbox claims, it is “For a close shave without stripping your legs of moisture…”. I think someone made a whoopsie here and copy-pasted the wrong paragraph (it is the first time I notice such thing so I won’t be too harsh on you, Birchbox, but come on – editors?). In any case, I am happy it is actually something for your face as currently I am having a small moment of obsession with face masks and serums. Yay.
KEEOME – Hydration Mask Therapy – This is the other full size product as a bonus this month and every subscriber gets something from this korean brand. Again – skincare makes me happy, brilliant choice of products once again, Birchbox!
I am now very excited and looking forward to testing all the products – perhaps even finding a new favourite amongst them?
